Leadership coaching in English—because your language should not hold you back
The first team meeting where you were suddenly the one expected to have the answers. The moment you realized that the technical expertise that got you here doesn’t automatically tell you how to handle the conversation you need to have tomorrow. Or the one you’ve been putting off for two weeks.
Most newly appointed leaders in tech know that feeling. And most of them work through it quietly, on their own—because who do you bring that to?
That’s exactly the kind of conversation I offer space for.
In English, with someone who has led international teams herself and knows what that early phase actually feels like from the inside—not from a textbook.
I work with newly appointed leaders in IT and tech, often in a new country, often in a context that is already demanding enough without adding a language barrier on top. English is my genuine working language—one I think in, not just speak. I’ve worked in it for over 25 years, across international teams and projects.
If your situation doesn’t fit neatly into “first-time leader”—perhaps you are an international professional working through a career decision, a transition, or a moment of professional uncertainty—I am open to a conversation about that too.
Curious whether this could be useful for you? I offer a free initial call—no pressure, just a conversation.
Ready for a change?
Find out how coaching can help you achieve your professional goals.
Newly appointed leader in IT or tech
You’ve moved from being really good at something technical to being responsible for a team that does it. The role is new; the expectations are real.
And the learning curve is steeper than anyone told you it would be.
International and navigating in DACH
You work in Germany, Austria, or Switzerland, but German isn’t the language you think in. That gap costs energy—in every meeting, every difficult conversation, every moment where precision matters.
Working through it in your strongest language makes a real difference.
Facing an important professional decision
Something needs to change—a role, a direction, a way of working, or you need a new perspective. You are not looking for someone to tell you what to do.
You want space to think it through. I have been there and can ask the right questions.
Clarity instead of chaos
Starting a new business means many new challenges. A colleague from IBM recommended Mrs. Nüchter as coach for this stage.
During the coaching sessions I learned new methodologies which helped me a lot to work on upcoming difficult topics – topics that are important when starting a new business. Her ideas and suggestions provided me different viewpoints on the current situation, which helped me to see things clearer and be more focused on my goals.
Mastering challenges means growing – I highly recommend the coaching sessions with Mrs. Nüchter to master also your challenges!

Where the real work happens
Leading a team in tech is a different kind of work than the work that got you there.
The questions that come up do not have standard answers: how to build trust quickly, how to handle a difficult conversation, and how to stay clear-headed when everything is moving fast. They need thinking space and someone who has navigated the same territory.
I bring over 25 years of experience in software development and international team leadership. I know what the early phase of a leadership role actually feels like and I can be a genuine sparring partner as you find your footing.
You do not have to work through this alone.
A note on women in tech leadership:
If you are a woman navigating a male-dominated environment, that layer of complexity is real—and worth mentioning. I have been there myself. It is something we can work on together if it is part of your situation.

Why work with me?
I bring over 25 years of experience leading teams in international tech environments at IBM.
I know what it feels like to navigate a new leadership role without a clear map. That is not theory. That is my history.
What I offer is a thinking space: structured, honest, and in a language where nothing gets lost. Coaching in English means you can reflect on what’s actually happening—not on how to say it.

My coaching qualifications
My coaching qualifications
My coaching is grounded in a certified education, completed with a degree from Steinbeis University Berlin.
I am also a member of dvct, the German Association for Coaching and Training, which keeps me connected to current thinking in the field.
I keep learning because it genuinely interests me. Not to collect credentials, but because the work gets better when I do.
More self-confidence thanks to daily successes
Birgit and I met through NetExpat, as she was my job/career coach while making the transition to living and working abroad (US –> Germany).
I could not have asked for a better guide for my job/career than Birgit. She is professional, caring, consistent, compassionate and understanding.
Birgit is realistic while also being quite kind. She helped me understand the job market in German, and also understand how it would be to be self-employed. When my confidence was down, she was able to suggest things that helped strengthen it.
For instance, I made a daily practice of writing down what was going well in my private practice, per her recommendation, and it really helped me see my progress and focus on how I was being effective in my work.
I cannot recommend Birgit highly enough. Even though our work through NetExpat has ended, I will not hesitate to reach out to her when I need job/career counseling.
FAQs – Coaching in English
Good to know before you start.
What is coaching in English?
Coaching in English simply means the entire coaching process — from our conversations to materials — is conducted in English. This makes it easier for you to think clearly, express yourself freely, and focus on your goals without the barrier of a second language.
Who is this coaching for?
This coaching is for newly appointed leaders in IT and tech who want to navigate their first leadership role with more clarity. And for international professionals in DACH who would like to work through a professional challenge in English.
I speak some German — should I still choose coaching in English?
If English is the language you think in most naturally, it’s probably the better choice for coaching too, even if your German is solid.
Coaching works best when your thoughts can flow without translation happening in the background.
What topics can we work on in coaching?
The focus depends on what you’re navigating. For newly appointed leaders, that is often the shift from expert to manager, building trust with a new team, or handling the first difficult conversations.
For international professionals, it might be a career decision, a role transition, or finding your footing in a new professional context.
We start from where you are.
How does the coaching process work?
We start with a no-obligation introductory call to find out whether this is a good fit.
If it feels right, we agree on a focus and begin regular sessions. Between sessions, you apply what comes up and we adjust as we go.
Do you offer online or virtual sessions?
Yes, I work with many clients online via video, which works well if you’re based outside Stuttgart or simply prefer the flexibility.
Can my company pay for coaching?
In many cases, yes. Some companies offer coaching budgets for professional development.
I can provide you with an invoice and, if needed, a short proposal to support internal approval.
How long is each coaching session?
A typical session lasts 60 minutes, occasionally 90.
If you want to work through a topic with some depth, three to five sessions is a realistic scope, with two to four weeks between each to give the work time to settle.
What happens in the initial call?
It is a 20–30 minute conversation. No pitch, no pressure. You tell me what’s going on, I tell you how I work, and we find out together whether coaching makes sense right now.
There’s no obligation to continue.
How much is a coaching session?
Coaching is an investment in a transition that will shape years of your professional life.
Here’s what to expect:
4 sessions—€1,200
8 sessions—€2,300
16 sessions—€4,500
If your company is sponsoring your coaching, I can provide an invoice and a short proposal for internal approval.
